About me

In addition to my private counselling practice, I work for a fostering agency, supporting carers to therapeutically parent children who have experienced developmental trauma and attachment issues. I worked for Relate as a children and young people's counsellor, supporting clients from age 5 to 18. I have worked and trained as a counsellor in primary schools with The Place2Be, and as a secondary school counsellor. My experience of working with adults includes mentoring undergraduates with mental health issues, working for an employee assistance program and counselling carers of people with dementia in Bristol.
My background is in journalism and education. Working in education inspired me to train as a counsellor. I kept meeting young people who seemed to really want a good listening to, rather than a ‘good talking to.'
I like to relax by walking in the woods.
Relevant Training and qualifications:
As part of my commitment to my clients, I undertake regular training and workshops, as well as working with a clinical supervisor to ensure the quality of work I am offering to clients. These are some of the training courses I have completed. You are very welcome to ask to see certificates, DBS and insurance:
